Working on structures for our ongoing ‘exhibit project’, has provided us with many learning opportunities.

Problem Solving: figuring out how to keep a piece of wood upright while it dries, attach a row of popsicle sticks together, and prevent pieces of wood from separating while drying

Using Creativity: generating a strategy to prevent pieces of wood from separating while drying, and, for using triangular shapes to strengthen square shapes

Exercising Patience: Being able to wait for the white glue to do its ‘magic’ on a hinge before declaring it won’t work

Being Reflective: testing the success of making a structure stable and strong enough to hold a load, thinking about the successes and challenges of their collaborations, and setting goals to improve.
